Ford vehicles are equipped with a self diagnosing immobiliser system
(PATS - Passive Anti-Theft System) which will help diagnose an immobiliser issue.

When an immobiliser fault is detected on a Ford PATS system, the red LED in the center of the dashboard will flash repeatedly.

After approximately 1 minute, the light will cease flashing rapidly & pulse a series of times (similar to a morse code).

This sequence of lights, depending on the issue the vehicle is having, will allow you to find out what may be causing the problem with the vehicle.

How do i find the PATS immobiliser light?

Depending on which model of Ford vehicle you have, the immobiliser light can be found in different locations. If your model is not listed here, it may mean that your model does not have a self diagnosing function.
